The USAID Child Survival and Health Grants Program
The Child Survival & Health Grants Program (CSHGP) supports U.S. non-profit,
non-governmental organizations (NGO) and their local partners to implement maternal
and child health and nutrition, family planning, HIV/AIDS and infectious disease programs.
Since 1985, the CSHGP has provided leadership within USAID and the international health
community by funding more than 370 child survival projects in 57 countries,
with more than 42 NGOs, reaching more than 100,000,000 people.
The rigorous standards of the program challenge NGOs and
their local partners to provide higher quality, sustainable child survival and
health interventions.
Through the CSTS+ project and the CORE Group, The CSHGP provides resources,
training and technical assistance to its grantees so that they:
- measurably and equitably improve the health of children and mothers;
- increase collaboration with USAID Missions and other donors and agencies;
- build the capacity of local partners/NGOs to design, implement and evaluate quality child survival and health programs; and
- increase U.S. public awareness of the worldwide NGO contributions to child survival.
