Malaria threatens almost half of humanity, annually infecting nearly half a billion people and claiming 2.7 million lives, particularly infants and pregnant women. The CORE Group's 36 member PVOs recognize malaria as a priority focus; 35 are implementing malaria interventions as part of their package of interventions through Child Survival and related health programs.
The CORE Group exists as a grass-roots PVO-built consortium with a purpose of strengthening through collaboration, whether it is PVO to PVO, international network to national network, Working Group and Taskforces to individual practitioners, or any other possibility in between.
'Fresh Air' is an opportunity for you as PVO field staff, together with guest National Malaria Control Program implementers, donors, and industry personnel, to collaborate as part of the CORE Group's commitment to promote and improve primary health care programs for women and children and the communities in which they live.
