The Rapid CATCH 2007 indicators are now required for all grantees with projects that started on or around October 1, 2007
CSTS+ and CSHGP would like to announce that the revised Rapid CATCH 2007 is now available and should be used only for all new grantees whose projects started on or around October 1, 2007.
The Rapid CATCH underwent a major reconstruction in 2006, and this year, minor changes were made to improve the indicators and make the CATCH easier to use.
The following changes have been made to the Rapid CATCH 2006:
The Child Spacing indicator has been eliminated. Grantees working in MNC are strongly encouraged to collect this indicator and other MNC Key indicators.
The Infant and Young Child Feeding questions have been modified in the questionnaire to make the indicator easier to calculate.
Vitamin A supplementation indicator now includes children who have received the supplement at the time of the survey as verified by the child health card or by mother's recall.
Both the DTP 1 and DTP 3 indicators now include children who have received the immunizations at the time of the survey as verified by the child health card or by mother's recall.
Presence of soap at the place of hand-washing replaces the hand-washing indicator introduced in 2006.

During January, 2007 the KPC 2000+ was updated with several new indicator definitions for Rapid CATCH 2006.
That version of the Rapid CATCH consists of 17 child health indicators that were developed through a collaborative process
including CSTS+, the CSHGP team, CORE's M&E Working Group, and technical experts in the USAID and CA community.
The Rapid CATCH 2006 indicators continue to be required for all grantees with projects that started on or around October 1, 2006
Grantees implementing projects which began before October 1, 2006 should continue to use the Rapid CATCH 2000+
indicators that they measured at their project's baseline and for all future CATCH measurements.
KPC modules are periodically updated to reflect international standards.
Consult the KPC Module listing to determine which modules you should download and use.
Key Indicators are the recommended indicators for each intervention area in addition to the Rapid CATCH 2006.
These are not required of any grantee, but they are highly recommended for grantees working in these interventions as the minimum
amount of information necessary for quality programmatic planning. Over the coming months, the Key Indicators will be highlighted
in each module as the modules undergo an update.
